Alfonso P. Saavedra entered in to rest on January 25, 2014 at the age of 92. Alfonso was born to Jose and Felicitas Saavedra on October 25, 1921. He is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Matilde Saavedra. He is survived by his children Dolores and Ramon Menchaca, Maria and John Gentile, Teresa Chavez, Sergio and Gracie Saavedra; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A visitation will begin 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave. Visitation will continue at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 for a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Mary Magdalen, 1710 Clowers. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
