My condolences to the entire family upon the departure of Alex. He was my class mate at the formerly Wheatley high school now called Brackenridge.

I attended the services of Professor Alexander Segura. He taught with me at Palo Alto College and shared many highlights of our students, whom he regarded as fundamentally important. He loved teaching and rejoicing in their growth. He graduated from both St. Mary's University and UTSA and was a member of the National Writing Program. He was beginning to share some of his poetry and fiction.   His quiet demeanor, love of teaching, and joy of writing will always be remembered.

My deepest condolences to Martha and the rest of the family. Alex was an awesome and inspiring man. I have always sang "Victory, oh victory shall be mine..." with Alex in mind because I loved when he sang it in church. 
His spirit was always full and his heart was always open to others. Alex and Martha had a marriage that others only hoped for, and they both beamed with happiness at all times. Martha, I ask God to surround you with his healing hands and comfort you in your time of loss and mourning. We love you.

I wanted to deepest sympathies for the loss of Alex. I was a fellow adjunct faculty member at Palo Alto College, and I remember Alex as someone who was always helpful and respectful of everyone. He was wonderful to have met. I am still in shock from learning that he is no longer with us. The number of people whose lives he touched and guided during his time here is a great a testament to him, about him.

The Ozuna Library at Palo Alto College  is very sad to hear of Professor Segura's passing and sends our condolences to you.  He would bring his classes to the library to do research for their assignment.  There are not many instructors these days that are willing to spend a whole class period outside the classroom, but we think he gave his students a great foundation for all the research that college requires.  We sure will miss seeing him.

Martha and family, 

I was so saddened to hear about Professor Segura's passing. Alex Segura was such a bright star in our department.  I remember smile and cheer in the hallway of San Jacinto. I had the great pleasure of observing his classroom last year and got to see how Professor Segura kept his students interested and engaged in the topic of argumentative appeals. He had high standards, and the students always felt respected by them. He will be greatly missed at Palo Alto.

Alex and I were fellow English instructors at PAC. He was a wonderful friend and brother in Christ. He loved the Lord with his whole heart! We would often pray together for the concerns we had. My husband and I had the honor of meeting his beautiful wife, Martha, and we had lovely visits with her and Alex on two occasions. I am overwhelmed with sadness at his loss. I will think of him in heaven with our Savior. Rest in heavenly peace, dear Friend.
