Alexander “Al” Rivers, born January 7, 1942, entered rest on March 27, 2012 at the age of 70. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, managed numerous stores for the Wick’s Lumber Co. and also worked for Dee Howard and Fairchild Aviation. He was a Eucharistic minister and long time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He volunteered for several hospitals including Audie Murphy V. A., University, and Methodist hospitals and also volunteered for Sister Care, providing assistance for the elderly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Celia Rivers; brother, Patrick Rivers and beloved sister in law, Penny. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Glenda Rivers; son, Derek Rivers; grandson, Forest Rivers; sister, Mary Catherine Pennington and husband Joe; brothers, Joe Rivers and Henry “Hank” Rivers and wife Marlene; numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Life Care Hospital for their kind and loving attention.
