He was born on July 23, 1939 in San Angelo to David Luke Ward and Bertha Graves. Bill went on to enlist in the Navy, proudly serving for several years. While stationed in Long Beach, California, he met the love of his life, Christina McGivern. The two were married on June 18, 1961 and had two children. Together they celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage. Bill had a variety of hobbies, most notably were spending time with his beloved family and cooking his famous gourmet cheesecake and pizza. He was also a hard worker and extremely meticulous with rockwork. His most impressive project was building his and Christina’s home from the ground up. His strength, determination, and loving spirit will be dearly missed by those around him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Ward and Dennis Cockburn; and special nephew, Bubba Ward.
Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his beloved wife, Christina Ward; brother, Danny Cockburn; daughters, Helen Ward Harding and Kathleen Ward; grandchildren, Kristen Sparks (Lonny), and Daryn Greene; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Sparks, Kain Sparks, Decklyn Sparks, and Raidyn Sparks.
