Wesley was born into the Christian home of Clarance Robert and Adene Feeler Gibbs on November 9, 1933 in Ballinger, Texas. He was married to Wanda Lou Duncan on February 14, 1953 in San Angelo, Texas.
After 29 years of service, Wesley retired from Goodyear Proving Grounds as a welder. His occupation and hobby was designing and creating all things metal. While working with Goodyear, Wesley designed and built trailers and other equipment for the company.
Wesley and his family moved to Bronte, Texas in 1969, where they raised all four of their children; and he served on the Bronte City Council for seven years. Wesley and Wanda supported their children and grandchildren in all types of sports and school activities. They moved back to San Angelo in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Wesley Randall Gibbs, his parents, and two brothers, J.E. and Travis Gibbs.
Those who will cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda, two sons, Kevin Gibbs and wife Cindy, Kendall Gibbs and wife Lisa, and daughter, Anissa Pullig and husband Chris. Also, his eight grandchildren who called him Grandad and Grandy Dandy: Casey Gibbs and wife Jackey, Anthony Gibbs and fiance Tana, Chance Gibbs and wife Holly, Haylee Stephens and husband Hayden, Brandon Gibbs and wife Sarah, Megan Hebert and husband Jason, Mackenzie Gibbs, and Keeler Pullig. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Kelton, Kannon, Addison, Hazel, Hagen, Kylinn, Tobin, and Oliver. His twin brother, Presley Gibbs and wife Betty, His two sisters, Dena Jirasek and Bobbie Alberts. Other special family members, daughter-in-law Shalon Hall, and sister-in-law Gwen Gibbs.
Graveside services will be under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home with Chaplin Kevin McSpadden officiating at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made in Wesley’s name to the charity of your choice.
