Born in Trenton, TX on September 8, 1932 to Hazel & Lee Norman, Taylor attended North Texas State where he met his love & best friend Helen. They later married on August 24, 1954 and welcomed their daughter Debi on December 3, 1956. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Bachelors of Divinity in 1957 as well as his Masters of Theology in 1962.
He pastored several churches in Texas with a years stint in Bogota, Colombia (1971) where he ministered to the English speaking congregation and aided in their organization as a church. He was also a member of the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas and served as Moderator of the associations in El Paso & Pearland.
Upon his retirement in Pearland, TX (1996) he began serving in the Intentional Interim Ministry. In 1998, he & Helen moved to San Angelo, TX where they became very involved in the First Baptist Church of San Angelo as departmental directors of Sunday School. During this time, his joy was visiting the homebound where he could 'pastor' them which was his greatest gift.
