Born in Fremont, NE to Elias and Isabel Shapnek, she was raised in New York State, and was a 1963 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. She was employed by the State of New York, Dept of Social Services. After marriage and relocation to Abilene and San Angelo, TX, she resumed clerical employment for this state until her retirement. Sharyl excelled in creative cake decorating, ceramics, and life sized doll making, which earned awards and recognition.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne A. Duprey; loving son, Daniel S. Duprey (Katina Riley Dunn); grandson, Riley M. W. Duprey; sister, Nancy (Walt Lytwyn); niece, Marisa Egan (Dennis Morel); niece, Vicki Hallenbeck; and nephew, Michael Hallenbeck.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at Holy Angels Columbarium.
