She was born April 8, 1924 in Bynum, Texas to Robert Lee Ainsworth and Beulah Mae O'Kelly Ainsworth.
She married Homer Dee Gallemore on August 1, 1942 in San Angelo, Texas. Homer was in the Army, so they moved to Garden City, Kansas, where their first child was born. Upon discharge from the Army, they returned to San Angelo where they raised their family.
Ruby was a longtime member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church and was active until her health declined. She went on several trips with the "Triple L" group (Living Longer and Loving it) in addition to attending their monthly meetings. Ruby worked in school cafeterias for a few years before going to work for Central National Bank in 1956. While there she made many friends. After retiring in 1988 she continued enjoying the friendships of other retirees from the bank. She told many funny stories of time spent with Christine Young and Doris Kennedy.
Ruby Marie loved and cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. She attended as many of their special life events as she could, until her age and health made it impossible. In recent years visits from her family (living in town and out of town) was the main thing she looked forward to experiencing. In addition to her grandchildren and their families, she enjoyed spending time with her niece Barbara Wilson, and her family when some of them could visit. She was also grateful for her nephew, Robert Flanary and his wife Joann. Robert took care of several "unexpected" needs around her house.
Ruby Marie was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee Ainsworth and Beulah Mae O' Kelly Ainsworth, husband Homer Gallemore, daughter Nancy Ellen Young, son Jimmy Dale Gallemore, daughter-in-law Dru Ann West Gallemore, sisters Pearlie Ditmore and Nora Mae Flanary, and granddaughter Angelia Young Cahill.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly Ann Heisler (Larry) of Pleasanton, Tx; granddaughters Lisa Norman (Coby) of Farwell, Tx, Vicky Fitzpatrick (Danny) of Odessa, Tx, and Debbie Gallemore of Odessa, Tx; great-granddaughters Amber Feuay (Luis Pabon), Faith Norman, Emma Norman, Jordan Fitzpatrick, Bethany Fitzpatrick; great-great-granddaughter Aubrey Jade Pabon.
A graveside service for Ruby Marie will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Epitaph by John C. Hallum
Corpus Christi
A fitting tribute to the one Who here so quietly rests
Cannot be carved in ornate stone Or verbally expressed.
She left behind no works of art In literature or clay.
Her work was done upon the hearts Of others, day by day.
Her Christian life lives on, you see, In others whom she knew,
Her faith, impartiality
Are her memorial true.
