Rose Brown, 43, also known as “Dr. Rose”, “Dr. Brown” and “Gigi” to many, passed away in a tragic automobile accident in Midland, Texas on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was born to Marvin Edward, Sr. and Cristina Abarca Brown on November 22, 1973 in El Paso, Texas. Rose worked in the medical field, where her caregiving talents afforded her the opportunity to bring joy to her residents while tending to their many other needs as a CNA and Med Aide both. She was in the process of going back to earn her nursing degree. Rose was the role model for all mothers, not only was she an amazing mother to her own children, but also to everyone else’s children. Rose was known as the paparazzi at events she attended Rose never missed any events for her children and countless other children that she loved as well. She was “bigger than life” and impacted everyone she came into contact with. Her laugh was infectious, causing those around her to forget what they were laughing about in many occasions. She also re-named everyone she knew half the time. Rose was a woman of great faith, always visiting a variety of churches in the area. She leaves a legacy of mothering, taking care of everyone and being happy in the presence of each moment, no matter the circumstance behind for others to live up to. Rose will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Edward Brown, Sr., and grandmother, Laura Abarca.
Survivors include her mother, Cristina A. Brown; children, Steven Stuart Lacy, Jr., Josiah James Contreras and Alyssa Janae Contrares; siblings and their spouses, Mary Lou Brown, Mike and Sunny Brown, Marvin Brown, Jr., Reggie and Eva Brown, Terry and Maria Brown, Beverly Brown and Cora Brown; grandfather, Nicholas Abarca; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will follow the 6:00PM rosary on Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the Johnson’s Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 23, 2017 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, San Angelo. Interment will follow in the Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. It should be noted for those who knew Rose well that the services will begin in real time, not “Rose Time”.
