Ronald David Rutledge, 63, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Ronald was born April 24, 1949, to John W. and Ramona (Eckert) Rutledge in San Angelo, Texas. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rutledge; his stepson, Garland Wayne Bailey II; his stepgrandchildren, Bo and Heather Bailey; his brothers, John Wayne Rutledge and wife Ginny, Timothy Paul Rutledge and wife Bonnie, Jeffrey Mark Rutledge and Michael Buell Rutledge and wife Donna; and a family friend, David Russell and wife Debbie. When Ronald was younger, he loved to play golf with his buddies and his brothers. He loved music and laughter. He and his wife Mary met in church when they were teenagers. They married 25 years later and would have celebrated their 26th anniversary on Valentine's Day. She was the love of his life. He returned to college in midlife and graduated from ASU in 1996, with his B.A. in English. He was an excellent writer and wrote many short stories.
