He was born in Westphalia, Texas and moved to Rowena, Texas at the age of 6. He graduated from Rowena High School. Bob proudly served his country in the US Army during which time he was stationed in Germany. He then returned home to Rowena and met Barbara Jean Urbanek. They were married on November 22, 1962 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rowena. They lived in Rowena and joyfully welcomed their 3 daughters. They then moved to San Angelo where Bob joined the Fire Department and served for 27 years. After retirement he worked at West Texas Boy’s Ranch and Porter Henderson Tractor. He loved tinkering with tools and mechanics and a person would be hard pressed to find something he could not fix or get running again. His joy in life was taking care of the grandkids and great grandkids and watching them run through the yard.
He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Barbara; his daughters, Debbie (Greg) Halfmann, Kathy (Steve) Henshaw, and Jeanne (Kye) Barnes. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sara Halfmann, Sadie (Brian) Woner, Scott (Kaitlyn) Halfmann, Halie (Aaron) James, Holton (Chloe) Henshaw, Collin (Jackie) Barnes, Catie (Dylan) Doss, Cameron Barnes and great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hayes, Tyson, Sophia Woner, Braxton, Bennett, and Briggs James, James and June Barnes, Jordan and Baby Doss and Baby Halfmann, all who lovingly called him Popo. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Bennie Frenzel and sister Margaret M. Matthiesen; brothers and sister-in-laws, David and Linda Urbanek, Ricky and Beatrice Gregory, and Glen Bohenburger. Bob was also Godfather to 9 special godchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters Lawrence and Anna Mae Frenzel, Alois and Rosemary Frenzel, Pete and Regina Schraer, and Helen and Herbert Wilde and his sisters-in-law Dorothy Frenzel and Susan Bohenburger and brother-in-law Tony Matthiesen.
