Richard Lamar Sanders, 76, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in San Angelo. The Memorial Service will take place at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, in Dallas, Texas. Richard was born January 20, 1935 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Lionell Sanders and Bonnie Sue Smith Sanders. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps , the U.S Air Force and also the U.S. Navy, seeing action in the Korean and Vietnam War, until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, Richard worked as a quality control manager on construction sites all over the country. He married Berrin Sen in Adana, Turkey in 1989 and they shared 22 wonderful years of marriage together. Richard was a very loving and caring person who devoted his life to his family. He also loved all people and was very friendly to everyone. He never knew a stranger and was always very engaging in conversations. He enjoyed being with his family and friends at gatherings and making sure the family stayed close. Richard will live on in our hearts forever! He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Richard is survived by his loving family, Wife, Berrin S. Sanders, of San Angelo; his Sons, Sezgi T. Sanders, of San Angelo and Jeff Sanders, of Phoenix, AZ; his Daughter Lisa Sanders Schell of Orlando, FL; his Grandchildren, Autumn Wyocik and Amber Wyocik, of Tampa, FL; his Brothers, Johnny Sanders, Robert Sanders and Red Sanders, all of Duncan S.C.; his Sister-in-law: Cihanber Lamare, of San Angelo; his Nephews, Orgun Sen, of North Carolina and Lee T. Lamare, of San Angelo; one Great Nephew, Feyze Ali Lamare, of San Angelo; a very dear friend, Suzie Kornegay, of San Angelo and Numerous other family members and close friends.
