Raul F. Morales, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Raul was born on December 5, 1923 in Miles, Texas to Alvina (Flores) and Romulo Morales. Raul grew up farming, at 20 years of age, he enlisted in the US Army. After his honorable discharge, he married the love of his life, Olivia Parra Morales. Raul worked for ALCO Shoe Services, he was a painter at San Angelo Electric Company, and later opened his own janitorial business. He was also a School Crossing Guard for around 15 years until he was well into his 90's.
Raul was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral for over 60 years. He was very involved in The Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He joined on May 1, 1971 and ended as a 4th Degree Knight and was an Honorary Lifetime Member. He was also awarded Knight of The Year in 2008. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was proud to be a US Veteran.
Raul was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Morales; his parents, Romulo and Alvina Morales; his brother, Reggie Morales; his sister, Eva Torres; his brother, Ramon Morales and his sister Rachel Diaz.
Raul is survived by his son Joe Morales (Della); his daughter Beatrice Trejo (Luis); and his daughter Mary Ybarra; his sister Rosaria Duke; his grandchildren Rueben (Rachael), Yolanda, Daniel (Shauna), Betty (Sam), Joey (Veronica), Monica (Chris) and Jeremy (Alma). As well as 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A rosary for Raul will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 20 East Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and Honorary Pallbearers are The Knights of Columbus Council 2136.
