Polly Williams Tiner passed away surrounded by loved ones in San Angelo on Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born to the late, R.D. and Ida Odum Swanson on April 4, in Lafayette, Georgia. She grew up in Tennessee and later adopted El Paso, Texas as her home. Polly retired from Southwestern Bell in El Paso after 27 years service. Being widowed for nine years, she then married Ralph Tiner on March 1, 1986. They lived in California, El Paso and San Angelo. Polly was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, M.L. Williams and Ralph Tiner; and 12 siblings.
Survivors include nieces, Janet Bacon and Polly Suits of Cleveland, TN; adopted family, Travis and Barbara McCorkle of Reno, Nevada; friends, Ed and Eloise Ferguson of South Carolina, and Irma and Ernie Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 25, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
