Early Friday morning, July 20, 2012 our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Olga Teresa Jansa at age 93 went home to our Lord. Olga was born October 15, 1918 in Rowena to Henry and Frances Bubenik Ripple. She married Charlie Frank Jansa on February 5, 1940 at St. Joseph Church in Rowena, TX. Olga and Charlie lived, farmed and raised their children on the Ripple family farm in the Lowake/Rowena area except for the first two years of their marriage when they lived near Miles. After Charlie’s death on October 19, 1979 she remained on the family farm at Lowake where she was born and lived for 71 years. In February 1992 she moved to Wall, TX where she continued to live for 20 more years. She was a homemaker and farm wife; working beside her husband in the fields and raising her children with loving devotion only a mother could possess. Each summer she would have a vegetable garden which she enjoyed canning for the family’s meals. Olga loved to cook and she baked the most wonderful Kolaches and fresh bread. She always kept delicious baked goods in the freezer for whoever dropped by for a visit. Olga was a very talented seamstress sewing all the clothing for herself and her family. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, but her favorite pastime in her later years was crewel embroidery which she proudly displayed on the walls of her home. Olga played many games of dominoes with her friends at Lowake especially her devoted neighbors Arthur and Julie Lisso. She also enjoyed her friends at the Senior Citizens group at St. Ambrose. She was a very “competitive Spinner” player with her grandkids and great grandkids. She always had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always kept many treats in her kitchen for them to enjoy. She was preceded in death by her parents.
