A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in San Angelo, Texas with the Rev. Sheree Harris officiating. Nina was born August 22, 1912 in Upton County, the daughter of George Steele McLaughlin and Mary Elvira Johnson McLaughlin. The family including six brothers, moved to San Angelo in 1919 where she attended school, graduating in 1930. Nina married the love of her life, Harold William Albert, in 1934 and raised two sons, Jack and Mike Albert.
Nina was always active in her church and taught Sunday School for over twenty five years. She served as Superintendent of the Primary Department for several years at First United Methodist Church. She was also active in several civic organizations serving as President twice of the Junior Woman’s Study Club and as President and Treasurer of Planned Parenthood. She was a member of the Tom Green Historical Society and the Fort Concho Museum. She was a devoted wife and homemaker yet worked at the Tom Green County Library, Frozen Foods, Inc. and Masterson’s Kindergarten. She has been a member of First United Methodist Church for over eighty-one years. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members, and they are numerous. She will be remembered always as teaching the true meaning of love and forgiveness. She was the glue that kept her family together.
She is survived by her sons: Jack Albert and daughter-in-law, Debbie, of Christoval and Mike Albert and daughter-in-law, Sharon of Colleyville. Grandsons, Lon Albert and wife Kim, of San Angelo, Todd Albert of Durango, CO, Ross Albert and wife Michelle, of New Braunfels, Tanner Albert of Colleyville; Granddaughter, Shauna Perroots and husband Jeff of Charleston, SC. Great-grandchildren, Alexandra Albert, Paxton Albert, Evan Albert, Bryson Albert, Victoria Albert, Jovonna Albert, Dallas Albert, Lauren Albert and Madelyn Perroots; and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Banner, Steve Hooker, Alan McLaughlin, Les McLaughlin, Bill McNabney and Gene Zimmerman.
