Nancy Wright joined her heavenly family on January 31, 2024. She was born in Bradshaw, Texas on May 13, 1938 to Roy Mack and Vera Wells. Mack was a farmer and mechanic and Vera was a housewife and school teacher there. The Wells retired in San Angelo. Nancy graduated from Lake View High School in 1956. She and Jimmy Hill were married and he pastored several Baptist churches in West Texas. Nancy served the churches where they were by teaching and with her beautiful voice. Nancy also held many positions as executive secretary, notably at Producers Livestock in San Angelo. Nancy loved to garden and watercolor paint. She always sent personalized greeting cards that she and Lawrence designed together. She was married to Lawrence Wright for the last 37 years. They were retired and lived on his ranch. Lawrence is a pilot and Ham radio operator and Nancy earned her Ham license and enjoyed participating in club activities. They traveled and faithfully served the Lord at Belmore Baptist Church where they were leaders and choir members.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and brother Don Wells, her sons Tommy and Randy Hill, her former husbands Jim Hill and Verlin Steel, and one grandson Tyler Scribner. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Wright and his daughters Jody and husband Kenneth Schnell of Canyon Lake, Karen Scribner of San Angelo, Laurie and Micheal Anderson of Spokane, WA, her brothers Douglas Wells of San Angelo, and Bill and Cherry Wells of Longview, WA. Her daughters Julie Farris and husband Scott of Seguin, and Jennifer Vickers and husband Tom of Brownwood. She had twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held Saturday, February 3 at Belmore Baptist Church at ten o'clock. Interment will follow at Belvedere Cemetery.
