Monseis Pena Rodriguez

Monseis Pena Rodriguez, 75 of San Angelo, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was born on April 12, 1948 in San Angelo, Texas to Jesus and Manuela “Lily” Pena Rodriguez. Monseis received his Bachelor of Culinary Arts from Michigan State University. He became an Executive Chef where he worked for a variety of 5 star restaurants all throughout Texas as well as up and down the East Coast.

Monseis not only had a passion for food, he also enjoyed cars, trucks and motorcycles. He was a fan of the classics as well as new and was always tinkering with them. Monseis was a loving father to his three daughters. He adored his grandchildren and also spent a lot of valuable time with the Ramirez family whom he loved deeply.

Monseis is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Luis Pena Rodriguez and his sister, Senida Rodriguez Martinez.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cynthia Rodriguez, April Lynn Rodriguez Troncoso, and Tammy Renee Rodriguez Miller; his grandchildren, Gregory Mark Connors, Michael Anthony Connors, Rabentino Monseis Troncoso, Brianna Nicole Urrutia, Marianna Lucia Troncoso, Johnthan DeLaCruz, Jasmine Angelina DeLaCruz, and Alexis Faith Ramos; his great grandchildren, Kyleigh Aubrey Connors, Gideon Slate Connors, John Daniel Urrutia, and Anthony S. Urrutia; his siblings, Clara Rodriguez Ruiz, Abel Pena Rodriguez, and Lamar Rodriguez Ramirez and husband Felipe as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Shannon Cancer Center and Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care of Monseis.

A Memorial Service will be held at New Mount of Olives Church – 1108 Shiloh Street, San Angelo, Texas 76901 on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11am.
