Jo was the oldest of five daughters born to William Franklin Parrent and Lottie Ella Griffin Parrent.
Jo and Mack Harris Woodward celebrated 71 years of married life on October 6, 2012. They spent many years farming and ranching in Schleicher County where she worked alongside Mack to provide for their needs, to share with others, and to put away for the ‘golden’ years. Life was first and foremost about home, family, friends, church and community.
Jo was active in various community and civic organizations, as well as church and benevolent programs. Jo was always ready to assist when there was a need, their home was open to anyone who needed a place, and food was prepared and delivered when the occasion arose.
After retirement, the couple moved to San Angelo, and resided for 25 years in the Rio Concho Retirement Community. They enjoyed years of RV travel and put together an outstanding genealogy of each of their families. They relocated to Argent Assisted Living in Seguin, February of 2010.
Survivors include husband, M.H. Woodward of Seguin; daughters: Linda Gayle Gerlach of Seguin, TX, Joyce Webb of Columbus, N.M., Susie and Barney McAlpine of Eldorado, TX; grandchildren: William and Jaime Webb, Stefanie and Nick Vasquez, Emily and Sly Mendoza, Amy and Larry Cerda, James Lloyd and Levona and Jacob Swindle, as well as 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by one sister, Lou Ella Skornicki of Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ella Parrent, and sisters Mable Lee Hawkins Stonehocker, Billie Lavern Grant and Lola Fern Parrent.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Eldorado Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
