

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday April 7, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Kurt Fangmeier officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ahrens was born December 20, 1930 in Moorehead, Minnesota to Franklin and Anna Marie Hall Holm. She married Conway Ahrens June 17, 1951 in Pillager, Minn. Marlys was employed as a Operations clerk in the Army Air Force Exchange Service for thirty years as well as a Sunday School Teacher for over fifty years. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and was active in the Senior Bowling League at Stadium Lanes.
Mrs. Ahrens was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Ethel Holm, a sister Ione Salazar, and a brother Douglas Holm.
Survivors include her husband Conway Ahrens of San Angelo, three daughters, Barbara Feist and husband Richard of Haslet, Christine Harris and husband Dan of Hobbs, New Mexico, Constance Ahrens and husband Greg Gregerson of San Angelo, a son Conway Keith Ahrens Jr. and wife Brenda of Keller, a sister Darlene Bickford of Pillager, Minn, a step-sister Nancy Tarabek of Glendale, California, eight grandchildren, Gabe and wife Cortney, Josh, and Christopher Harris, Erica Johnson, Ahren Castledine, Shawn Gregerson and wife Alma, Traci Ahrens, Michelle Ahrens, four great grandchildren, Myles and Jessi Johnson, Zackary Gregerson, and Baron James Harris.
