Marie M. Williams

Marie Williams went to her heavenly home Dec. 2, 2020. Graveside services will be 11 am Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo. She was born September 23, 1926 in Crowville, Louisiana. She was married to Robert H. Williams June 1st 1949 in Weslaco, Texas and they moved to San Angelo in 1957 where her husband worked for GTE. She was a telephone operator in Weslaco where she met her husband and after marriage she became a full time housewife and mother to their 3 children. She did volunteer work for the gift shop at Angelo Community hospital and was an avid Bridge player in which she participated in the Shriner’s bridge tournaments. She was a member of The Heights Baptist Church of San Angelo. Her final years were spent at the Advanced Rehab center in Bowie, Texas. Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Dawson of Lake Jackson, Texas and one brother Louie Montgomery of The Woodlands, Texas. Three children, sons, Harold and his wife Celeste Williams of Haslet, Texas, Ron and his wife Tammy Williams of Alvord, Texas, and daughter Tracey Garrett of Christoval Texas. Four grandchildren, Amanda Barber and her husband Chris, Brian Williams and his wife Beth, Jennifer Williams and Scott Lee and his wife Chelsea. She was also blessed with eight great grandsons, Hunter, Dustin and Cordell Williams; Cael, Ian and Alan Barber; Gunnar and Case Lee. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Williams, grandson Christopher Lee, two brothers, James and Charles Montgomery and two sisters Betty Cardin and Janice Cooper.
