Marian was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her father, Billy R. Sawyer. She is survived by her mother, Linda Sawyer, her brother, Bill Sawyer and his family and her brother, Kelly Sawyer and his family and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
Marian spent her primary years at home. She was admitted to Abilene State School when she was 10 and then admitted to Bethphage, which is now Mosaic, in San Angelo, Texas in 1988.
She competed in Special Olympics in Track and Field and also in Bowling. Her favorite activity, however, was riding Cheyenne in the Mosaic Trails Therapeutic Riding Program.
Marian enjoyed working at the workshop at MHMR, dancing, movies and hanging out with her friends. She loved life, babies and little children and especially Miguel, her father’s 120 pound Rottweiler.
We would like to thank Dr. Walter Hewell and Dr. Deborah Hajovsky for the years of dedicated care, Hospice of San Angelo and all the dedicated staff at Mosaic who cared for her for 28 years. A special thanks to her hairdresser, Porfirio Flores for his care of her hair for 28 years. A very, very special thanks to all our family and friends for their thoughts and prayers.
Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2016, at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Charles Greenwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mosaic and/or Hospice of San Angelo. Family and friends may express condolences and sign the online guest book at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com.
