Lucia Montgomery

Lucia Tovar Montgomery, age 87, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. Lucia was born December 15, 1934 in Nueces County, Texas to Encarnacion and Camila Tovar. She worked as a manager at Red Barn Cafe in Odem, Texas for several years. Lucia was married to Homer Montgomery until his passing in 1991. In 1992, she moved to San Angelo where she met her significant other, Lazaro Arroyo who passed away in 2015.

Lucia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer Montgomery, her brother and sister in law; Domingo and Oralia Tovar; her brother, Manuel Tovar; her sister, Maria Tovar; her nephew, Johnny Tovar; her nephew, Fernando Tovar, her nephew, Johnny Joe Tovar, and her significant other, Lazaro "Larry" Arroyo.

Those left to cherish her memory are her nephew, Dionicio Tovar and wife Mary of San Angelo; her niece, Mary Ann Gonzales and husband Armando of San Angelo; Esmeralda Tovar of Watauga, Texas; great niece, Eleni Bradley of San Angelo as well as many more nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

A rosary will be held at 7 pm. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff of San Angelo Nursing and Rehab, Shannon Medical Center, and Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care.
