Linda Eloise Bass Wilson passed away Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 of lung complications. She was born, August 14th, 1947 in San Angelo, TX. Her father was in the Air Force and they traveled a great deal in her younger life. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1965. She was active in VIC’s and FHA where she began her true love for animals.
Throughout her life, Linda loved animals and continued to help any creatures possible. Her most memorable was of course ‘Wiggie’ her peppermint-eating potbelly pig!
Linda, with her kind soul, volunteered at the San Angelo State School becoming a Volunteered Service Honoree and was awarded the TXMHMR Star Award for her dedication and help to others. She was so giving! Linda never met a stranger and had a way of always making others feel better!
Linda liked to dance, do puzzles, garden, judge chili cook offs and enjoyed her ‘Lunch Bunch’ friend’s monthly gathering. She belonged to the Button Club, loved doing arts & crafts and won many awards for her creativeness.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Henry F. Bass, her stepfather Bill Hamlin, her sister Kay Vater and her grandparents Lora & Alex Phinney and Grady and Ida Bass.
Survivors include her mother, Clara Hamlin; sister Brenda Spruce; her loving son Stephen Wilson and grandson Sebastian Wilson all of San Angelo, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 28th, at Johnson’s Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and services will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 at 10:30 am at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel and burial following at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA or charity of choice.
