He was born on March 23, 1942 in Roswell, New Mexico to Charles Wilburn Beatty and Mattie Lou Wooley.
Larry attended Central High School and graduated in the class of 1960. He later went on to begin his career at Terrel Manufacturing then onto Angelo State University as a painter and refinisher.
Larry Beatty married Linda Darlene Ballard on August 16, 1968 and had two daughters.
Larry was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the National Rifle Association and the San Angelo Gun Club. He had a passion for riding Harleys; his corvette, his horses and all his guns.
Larry will always be remembered for the love he had for his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wilburn Beatty and Mattie Lou Beatty, his sisters; Paula F Beatty, Mattie Charlene Beatty and brother Jack Beatty.
Larry is survived by his daughters; Diana Scarbrough and husband, Brian, and Debra Harris and husband, Tony; nephews; Paul Beatty and wife, Brenda, Charlie Beatty and wife, Alanda, and Micheal Beatty; a niece, Tonie Heflin and husband, Sammy; 6 grandchildren; Christopher Crawford, Brandon Bradley, Maegan Harris, Teagan Bradley, Madyson Scarbrough and Hannah Harris; great grandson, Jaxon Colt Shaffer.
Graveside services are 10 am on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in the Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in San Angelo. Johnson’s Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
