Kenneth Klutts was born August 30, 1942 to Ira and Evelynn Klutts in Coleman, TX. Soon after his birth, the family moved to the San Angelo area, where Kenneth grew up. He was a graduate of Lake View High School in 1960. While attending Lake View, he met the love of his life, Trudy Ann Humphries. After high school, Kenneth went to work for GTE/ Verizon. After Trudy’s graduation, they married June 21, 1963. There first daughter, LynAnn, was born 9 months and 3 weeks later on March 28, 1964. There second daughter, Michelle Rae, was born October 16, 1969.
Kenneth and Trudy were lifelong members of Baptist churches in communities throughout central and west Texas as Kenneth moved with his job. They were members at Immanuel Baptist Church for at least 43 years and he faithfully served as a Deacon for 37 years. Kenneth became Deacon Emeritus in 2017. Kenneth was a long time Sunday School teacher where he made significant impacts in people’s lives as a mentor. One member recounted, “he was the best teacher I ever had. He could recount the bible without even opening it while he taught.” They were also members of the San Angelo Saddle Club and were active in the late 1970’s through the early 1980’s, where they made many friends and memories. Kenneth retired from GTE/ Verizon in the early 1990’s after 31 years of service. 13 years later, he and Trudy moved to Baptist Retirement Center.
