Keith Howell

Keith graduated from Van High School and attended Tyler Junior College. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Keith retired from GTE after 33 years of employment.

Keith married Barbara on November 9, 1968. Together they had one son.

Keith was a boy scout during his youth and was Assistant Scout Master during his sons youth. He was also a communicant of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

He will always be remembered for his love of reading novels, working at the Friends of the Library annual book sale, and for teaching his grandchildren the importance of books by taking them to the library’s story time events and having his own story time reading books to them.

Keith is survived by his wife, Barbara Howell, and his son, Donald Howell, as well as his grandchildren, Samantha and DJ Schlather, Dustin Howell, Billy Turner and his great-grandson, Houston Schlather. He is also survived by his brother, Dick Howell and his wife, Kay, and sister-in-law Claud Howell.

A graveside service will be held August 19th, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens weather permitting.
