Julian R. Casillas, 83, of San Angelo, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in San Angelo. He was born to the late, Frutoso, Sr. and Antonia Rodriguez Casillas on July 4, 1933 in San Angelo. Julian married Josie Castillo on May 4, 1958 in Saltillo, Mexico. He worked as a salesman for West Texas Utilities for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. Julian was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American GI Forum. He enjoyed spending time playing golf and being with family. Julian will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Julian R. Casillas, Jr.; and siblings, Frank Casillas, Juanita Reyes, and Felix Casillas.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Josie C. Casillas; children and their spouses, Elaine and Bill Tiedemann, Jesse Casillas, Jerry and Nidia Casillas, and Jaime and Betty Casillas; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Casillas, Mary Martinez, Dolores Rodriguez, and Frutoso Casillas, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church beginning at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Interment will immediately follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 7 West N, San Angelo, Texas 76903, in honor of Julian R. Casillas.
