Jimmie Carl Pounds, 63, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born to the late J.C. and Annie Bell Constable Pounds on October 18, 1953. He retired as a Supervisor with the SAISD after 37 years service. He married Margaret Lawlor on April 25, 2011 in their home in San Angelo. He was of the Baptist faith. "G-Daddy", as his grandchildren call him, was a man that believed in family. To say that he was family oriented does not do him justice. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at BBQs at the pool and Christmas holidays. He was a member of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Trail Ride team and was a baseball and football fan. Jimmie could be found tinkering with just about anything on most days. His jovial nature and loving spirit will be missed greatly. Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Pounds and mother, Annie Bell Jackson.
Survivors include the love of his life, Margaret Pounds, his wife; children and their spouses, Jennifer Clark (Mark), Shannon Pounds, and Jason Pounds (Crystal); step son, Marc Lawlor; grandchildren, William and Elizabeth Clark, and Addison and Jaxon Pounds; siblings, Janice Smith and Walter Pounds (Sue); numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be an open time of visitation on Tuesday from 4:00-9:00pm for those wishing to pay respects to Jimmie. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in the Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and photos as well as sign the online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.
