Ignacia Sarabia Saenz, 90, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 surrounded by her family. Arrangements are by Johnsons Funeral home. She was born July 19, 1920 to Juan and Julia Sarabia as the second of eleven children. Growing up in a large family on a farm gave mom a deep love for family and she always kept them in the center of her life.
Mom loved to be surrounded by her family, never missing the chance to get together with them over BBQ and cold drinks. She liked to spend her evenings playing a good game of cards, but her love for her family was so strong that she never missed any activities that her children and grandchildren were in. Mom was very witty and liked to joke around; her favorite thing was teasing her grandchildren that they were cheating at cards. She also loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and her novellas. Mom had so much energy and was so strong that she took care of her whole family to the end rather than us needing to take care of her.
Ignacia was preceded in death by her husband Pedro Saenz, her parents, and daughter Yolanda S Ordonez.Survivors include her son, Joe Saenz of San Angelo; daughter, Irene Dominguez of Odessa, step-daughters Gloria Vijil of Burleson, Amelia Sanchez of Monahans; brother Catarino Sarabia; grandchildren Justin Saenz and wife Valerie, Jannifer Shiffett and husband Rod, Jennica Saenz, all of San Angelo; Kenneth T.
