A rosary was held on Friday at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be today at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Gus was born in San Angelo on February 8, 1921 to Jesusita and Antonio Sosa. He served in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific. After Gus served in the Army, he returned to San Angelo and met his loving wife of 51 years, Eloisa Sepeda Sosa. Gus worked for many years at Jax Distributing where he met many friends and eventually went on to work for and retire from GTE. Gus loved to play bingo and dominos with his buddies at Santa Fe Crossing. He also loved hunting and crashing parties with “Jeangi.” Gus never met a stranger, would give you the shirt off of his back, and always offered unconditional love to everybody.
Gus was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his three siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Teri Sosa of San Angelo; sons: Joe Sosa and wife Irma of Grand Prairie, TX, Gus Sosa and wife Toni of Abilene, TX, David Sosa and wife Teresa of San Angelo, and Sam Sosa of Portland, OR; ten grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jane Flores; and loyal caregiver and “adopted daughter” Jeanne Wagner.
