Dear Mrs. Holland, 

I was sorry to learn of Leon's recent death. Dad enjoyed Leon's company on their hunting trips in Ethiopia, and your husband gave me my very first guitar lessons at your home there at Alemaya. I have many happy memories of him and you.  My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Dr. Holland was a blessing to many students and I count myself among those.  Dr. Holland possessed a wealth of knowledge and shared it with many.  He was the type of man everyone would do well to emulate.

I had the good fortune to have Dr. Holland in several classes in my undergraduate studies.   He was an outstanding educator with a wealth of real-life experiences.  My sincere condolences to his family at his passing.  Rest in Peace.

So many good things come to mind when I think of Leon. Very honored to have known him.
