Elizabeth Pauline Ford

Elizabeth Pauline (Polly) Ford of San Angelo, TX passed away Monday, January 8, 2024. She was born on July 9, 1929 in Kaufman, TX to James C. and Mary L. Mixson. Polly attended Lake View Jr. High and left school in the 8th grade to go work to help support family. She later went on to obtain her GED for San Angelo ISD. Polly worked for The Troy Laundry where she met her future husband Bernard Ford (Bernie). She went on to marry Bernie on January 5, 1949. Polly was a proud member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, she had a passion for teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Polly will always be remembered for her beautifully decorated cakes and her love of playing games and watching Jeopardy. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard (Bernie) Ford; her parents James C. and Mary L. Mixson; her son Bernard Howard Ford; her daughters Darla Jo Ford and Lisa Frey; her brothers Robert, Dal, Sam and James Mixson and her sisters Mural Dubose and Sarah Traylor. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Judy Leon and Paula Kennemer (Aubrey); here sister Mary Perry; her brothers Don (Helen), Lawrence (Kay) and Ray (Millie); her grandchildren Chris Kennemer, Melissa Parker, Melody Bell, Carrie Cummings, Rachel Hughes, Mary Frey and Abby Hellums; her great grandchildren Shelby Kennemer, Keegan Acevedo, Daniel Parker, Raegan Parker, Chloe Bell, Nolan McMeans, Lucas McMeans, Zoe McMeans and Nicholas Serrano and many, many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation to Robert Lee Care Center. The family would also like to thank the staff of Robert Lee Care Center.
