Edward "Ed" Gary Williams, 84 died on Friday, February 3, 2017. He was born in Hartwell, Georgia on October 25, 1932 to Albert and Katharyn (Gary) Williams. Ed attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He retired from the United States Air Force with 23 years of service. Ed then went to work for SESCO as a lab manager for 10 years. Ed married Doris Jeannie Campbell on August 3, 1957 in St. Albans, Queens, New York. They have been life long friends since 9 years old. The fruits of this marriage were Edward Gary Williams II and Joya Denise (Williams) Bell. With his military career the family has been stationed in Taiwan, Greece, the Philippines, and lastly, San Angelo, Texas. Ed loved to go fishing around the area lakes; he also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He was a Master Mason of Jackson Lodge #15. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Williams and Katharyn Williams Tomlin. He is survived by his wife Doris Jeannie Williams, sisters Laconia (Ben) Jackson and Sonia Perez. His children, Edward Gary Williams II and Joya Denise (Michael) Bell. Granddaughters, Roneshka Jones and Kayla Williams . Great-granddaughters, Lazaria & Layoni Leggett. Nieces, Lisa(Gordon) DeShazer and Lana Jackson, and a nephew, Nero Wise. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6PM-8PM on Friday, February 10 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Johnson's Funeral Home.
