Donald Joseph Woehl joined our precious Sterling “Owee” in Heaven on Monday, May 22, 2017. He lived his life to the fullest, and did it his way. He loved the Lord, his family, fishing and farming. If you were looking for him, you could guarantee that you could find him out in the fields on the tractor. Donald was born to Willie B. Woehl and Irene Bacuum Woehl on February 13, 1940, in San Angelo, Texas. He was a star quarterback at Fairview High School, and later served in the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Sterling Joseph Woehl; his brothers William L. Woehl, Herbert Arlin Woehl; his sister Patricia Ann Woehl; his brother-in-law’s; John Stanton and David Hedrick; and a niece, Stephanie Elaine Woehl. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Patricia Ann Burkhalter Woehl; his sons Courtney Joesph Woehl and wife Dawn, and Bennett Joseph Woehl; grandchildren Caden, Connor, Jordan, and Jacob; his brother Harvey James Woehl; sisters Shirley Stanton and Darlene Hedrick; sister-in-law’s Marcella Woehl, Virginia Woehl, Julia Burkhalter, and Rosalinda Baker; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donald was only 2 pounds when he was born, and although he was literally brought home in a shoe box, he always made sure to live life outside the box. His family was his number one priority, and he always made a point of stopping by Courtney and Dawn’s house every day before leaving the fields for the day. Pallbearers will be Arlin Woehl, Andy Woehl, Richard Woehl, Connor Woehl, Caden Woehl, and Robert Field. Rosary will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on May 24, 2017, and Catholic Funeral Service being held at 10:00 on May 25, 2017 at St. Ambrose in Wall, with internment to follow at St. Ambrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the charity of your choice, or an Alzheimer’s Foundation. Family and friends are encouraged to sign an online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com
