Donald Wayne Hughes

Donald Hughes, 79, of San Angelo, TX, passed away February 1, 2017. He was born in Quanah, TX on June 9, 1937. Donald received a Ministerial degree from Hardin-Simmons University and a degree in Music Ministry from Baptist Bible College. He married Betty Marie James on April 22, 1959; she preceded him in death on October 10, 2005. Don worked full time in ministry for 50 plus years, serving as Music Minister and Pastor in various churches. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church at the time of his death and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his brother, J.W. Hughes and his sister, Betty Lambert. Don is survived by his 2 sons, Ken Hughes of San Angelo and Bob Hughes and wife Susan of Phoenix, AZ; grandson, Nathan Hughes and wife Annie; granddaughter, Lindsay Adams and husband Joseph of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Megan Hughes of Phoenix, AZ; 6 great grandchildren, Elliott Adams, Noah Adams, Emma Adams, Parker Adams, Karah Hughes, Kaylin Hughes; and 2 brothers, Glen Hughes and Tom Hughes.
