Dixie Lee (Frizzell) Thompson was called home by her heavenly Father to receive her healing on resurrection Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 26, 1959 to Jim and Jan Frizzell. Dixie was the oldest daughter, sweet sister, loving mother and grandmother, a special Aunt, caring wife and friend to all.
In 1977, she graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, TX. During a brief time in Hungerford, TX she earned a B.A. in biblical studies/theology.
Dixie was able to fulfill her God given purpose in serving others. She served the Lord, her church, her family and friends as well as strangers. She was involved in prison ministry as well as numerous women’s ministries and groups.
She was preceded in death by James Bailey Frizzell.
Loved one’s were not left to mourn her home going but to celebrate her life, they include her husband Kenneth Don Thompson; parents Benny and Jan Thompson and Jim AufderHeide, Jr.; grandmother Mary AufderHeide and Clarice Thompson; children Jana Hibbitts of San Angelo and her children Allesa and Kendall Blue, Robert Hibbitts, Jr. of Key West, FL and his daughter Kaitlynn Hibbitts, Ebony Goodloe of San Angelo and her daughter Akira Sanders, Kayla Watson of Dallas and her son Jaden Watson; siblings Chuck Frazier of Waco, Tammye McDavid of Los Angeles, CA, Heather Byrd of San Angelo, Jennifer Jackson of Tacoma, WA, Wade AufderHeide of Midland and Jackie Perr of Madison, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 5th at Word of Life with Rev. David Smith and Rev. John Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Darron Walton, Michael Evans, Kellen Thompson, Randall and Kendall Blue and Tarrance Conner.
