Dennis Dwayne Delaney, 53, of Veribest went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Veribest after a long courageous battle with cancer. The rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Monday, June 25, 2012 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Msgr. Maurice Voity as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mullins Cemetery. Dennis was born February 24, 1959 in Okinawa, Japan to Charles and Margie Bruner Delaney. He graduated from Del Rio High School and then moved to San Angelo to attend Angelo State University. Dennis worked for numerous businesses in the San Angelo area, including Taco Villa, Levi’s and Gandy Ink. He married Nati Acosta on May 10, 1980 in San Angelo and they shared 32 beautiful years of marriage together. Dennis was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and friends and he will remain forever in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Delaney and his mother and father-in-law, Fermin and Olivia Acosta, Jr. Dennis is survived by his loving family, Wife, Nati Delaney; his children, Monica Delaney and Noe Terrazas, Sr., Robert Delaney and fiancée Andrea De La Garza, and Amanda Szymanski and husband Nick; his Grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Jason Escobar, Jaymezon De La Garza, Tanaya Jackson, Nicholas and Alexis Szymanski; his Parents, Charles and Margie Delaney; his Sisters, Debbie Cottle and husband James and Diana Hanley; his sister-in-law, Angie Miller and husband Eddie; his Brother-in-law, Fermin Acosta, Jr. and wife Janie. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Nieces and Nephews. He is also survived by a very special Marian Movement of Priests prayer group who met faithfully every Wednesday. Donations may be made to Hospice of San Angelo or the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks and appreciation to his Gandy Ink Family, his Hospice nurse Debbie, Dr. Melott and Dr. Cummings and their nursing staff for all of the special care given to Dennis over the last 3 years.
