Our sweet sister Debra Dale Tankey went home on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2013. She was our homecoming queen, master painter and the longtime loving caretaker of our parents, Peetie and George Tankey. Debbie was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Dec. 30, 1953. Our Deb was a survivor from birth; she was born prematurely and lost her twin sister at that time. She was a breast cancer survivor as well. She is a sister to Marsha (Jim) Baxter, Michael (Barbara) Tankey, Lisa (John Carl) Escue and Patricia Tankey (Kenny). She has three wonderful nephews, John Michael (Morgan) Escue and Matthew (Laura) and Trevor (Erin) Bonser, and a great-niece, Lily Bonser. She leaves behind her partner, Leslie, very special friends Mary and Kimberly, and a lifetime of friends wherever she went. She is preceded in death by her twin sister; and our mother, Peetie. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life, as she would have wished. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of San Angelo, 36 East Twohig Avenue, San Angelo, Texas, 76903. She was always a quick wit and loved to play, laughed easily with great joy, and loved with no reservation. She will be dearly missed.
