He was born on October 20, 1946, in San Angelo, to Gabino and Rose Reyes.
David served in the U.S. Army, was a Vietnam Veteran, attended Angelo State University and worked as an electrician at Ethicon Inc for forty-three years. He married Esther Castaneda in 1967 and they had two daughters, Lorena and Alma.
He was known for his bright smile, his friendliness, his quick wit and his gift of storytelling. He was a skilled jack of all trades and was a master at ALL of them. He was admired for his tenacity and for his ability to get the job done, no matter what the task. He loved people and helping them and he did so in numerous capacities. He had a passion for golf, but before golf he was excellent at bowling and tennis. He served on the Ethicon Union Board of Trustees for numerous years, was a member of the Pan American Golf Association of San Angelo and of the Ethicon golf and bowling leagues.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Esther; his daughters, Lorena Reyes and Alma Reyes; his three granddaughters, Victoria Albert, Jovonna Albert and Valentina Reyes Pena; one great granddaughter, Ava Ibrarra; a special niece, his Nadia Ann; his sisters, Irene Hernandez, Ermalinda Pinedo, Yolanda Carrillo, Ruth Mar, Diane Vega and Roxanne Davila and numerous family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, who raised him, Santiago and Jobita Reyes.
