Corine Gonzales Martinez

On September 30, 2018, Corine “Mi Corazón” Gonzales Martinez, 70, of San Angelo TX, went to be with the Lord. Her husband held her hand all the way, as she wanted him to do. She was born on July 21, 1948 to Hilario and Antonia Gonzales. Corine received a BSN in Nursing, a Master’s in Human Resources and a Master’s in Nursing from Angelo State University. She worked for 26 years at Ethicon Inc. in Human Resources and Management as an Occupational Health Nurse. Corine taught at the School of Nursing at Angelo State University for seven years before retiring. She is survived by her husband, Paul Martinez, her children, Robert and his son, Avery Hogeda; Rachel (Bret) Batchelor; Mario (Jamie) Martinez; Patricia (Ray) Martinez; her siblings, Tony (Lawana) Gonzales; Susie (Russel) Michel; Larry (Betty) Gonzales; Sammy (Linda) Gonzales; and Oscar Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Minerva (Larry) Lopez; Noemi (Armando) Estrada; Ruth (Vicente) Villalon; and Becky (Misael) Saucedo. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Corine is preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Antonia Gonzales, her siblings Eva Garcia, Rachel Miller, and Adam Gonzales. She was loved by everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 6-7 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10 am at Primera Baptist Church (23 W. Avenue J San Angelo, TX 76903.) Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Tony Gonzales and Rev. Robert Cuellar. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.
