Connie was born on April 24, 1945 to Wayne and Maxine Ackerman at the family home in Larned, Kansas; she was the only one of her siblings not born in a hospital. She married the love the of her life, Lloyd Blakely, on June 15, 1963.
Connie worked many years as an x-ray and lab technician in Scott City, Kansas, Big Lake, Texas, Midland, Texas, and Brenham, Texas where she retired. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed crossword puzzles and needlepoint in her spare time. She was an avid bowler, earning the High Series award numerous times. Her sense of humor and laughter will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael Ackerman, sisters Barbara Eakin, Linda Salmans, Cynthia Garvey, and one granddaughter, Lori Stroud.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lloyd Blakely of San Angelo; her children Shelly Blakely of Midland, Texas, Stacey Stroud (Larry) of Big Lake, Texas, Jack Blakely (Bertha) of Big Lake, Texas, and Jenell Niedecken (Jeff) of Midland, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her siblings and spouses Larry and Bea Ackerman, Thomas and Deana Ackerman, and Kathy and Charlie Beach, brothers-n-law, Lynn Salmans and Nolan Eakin.
A heartfelt thank you to the caretakers from Kindred Hospice and Visiting Angels, Samantha, Stephanie, Reine, Julie, Alexis and Brooke.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
