Rosary and Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Charles Greenwell presiding. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Carolyn was born on August 12, 1938, in Gallup, New Mexico, to AJ and Venus Burney. Carolyn graduated from Mertzon High School, attended business college, and soon began working at the County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office in 1956 in San Angelo. She served there for 17 years before transferring to the National ASCS office in Washington, D.C., where she served for 12 years. In 1985, Carolyn transferred to Texas State ASCS office in College Station. She later retired in early 1994.
Carolyn was a devoted wife and a caring, loving person to all of her family and everybody she met. She was an active and faithful church member at Holy Angels for many years.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and daughter. She is survived by her husband, Kermit; her son, Clay Cozart; her stepsons, Daren Decker and wife Gaye, John Decker and wife Jeanne; her stepdaughters, Kelli Blankenburg and husband Mike, Kerri Veitch and husband Danny, Laurie Cusano and husband Dave, Amy Schoeling and husband Dusty; her brother, Don Burney and wife Judy; and 19 grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to special friends Donna and Bill Daughtery, and their daughter, Laurie, for their support and strength during this difficult time in her final days.
