C J “Jim” Thompson, 77, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 in San Angelo. A visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Johnson’s Funeral Home with a memorial service to begin at 4:00 p.m. Jim was born May 9, 1938 to Charlie James Sr. and Alice (Howe) Thompson in Crane, TX. Jim served in the United States Army; one of his greatest achievements in life was obtaining his Pilot’s license. He loved to garden especially tomatoes and jalapenos, as well as dancing and cooking with his wife Mary. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Charlie James Thompson Sr.; mother, Alice Howe; and sister, Ruth Ann Gilbert. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Lawson; daughter, Dana Wisko and son-in-law, Michael Wisko; granddaughter, Katheryn Dalton; son, James Scott Thompson; daughter, Tijian and Jay Smith; and grandchildren, Logan, Parker, Maria, and Anton.
