Bertha "Birdie" Glaze Eaton, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in San Angelo. She was born to the late, John America and Bertha Mae Toomes Glaze on Monday, July 1, 1935 in Redding, CA. Birdie married Edwin Eaton on January 24, 1953 also in Redding. Birdie was known for her giving nature. She even kept a separate refrigerator full of goodies and drinks for the neighborhood kids. It can be said that she showed her love for others through taking care of and feeding them. Birdie worked several jobs at once throughout her life. She served in various capacities both at Goodfellow AFB and McGowen Catering for a number of years, just to name a few. Birdie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren, Beverly Baker and Don Parker; and several siblings. Her legacy of hard working ethics and a giving heart will be treasured for generations to follow. She will be missed greatly.
Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Susie Whiteside, Debbie and Jim Parker, Yanako and Kenneth Tucker, Edwinna Honnoll, and Carol Harrison; grandchildren, Kristina Honnoll, Robert Valadez, Michael Valadez, Jimmy Parker, Faith Smith, Dillon Parker, Debra Sue Baker, Ruthy Whiteside, Roderick Whiteside, Natasha Harrison, Brittany Harrison, and Terrance Harrison; numerous great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Johnson's Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in the Johnson's Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo.
