Benito Hernandez Luna Jr. (B.J.), 45 of San Angelo, TX went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2024. He was born in San Angelo, TX on February 8, 1978 to Benito H. Luna Sr. and Irene Garza. B.J. attended Water Valley High School and graduated in the class of '96. After high school he attended ASU for a short time before becoming an Assistant General Manager at Sonic Drive In for 14 years. During his time at Sonic he began his calling of mentoring and encouraging those around him. In 2001 he met the love of his life, Teresa Luna, whom he later married in 2007. In 2014 he began his career at Discovery Natural Resources where he worked as a Lease Operator and later became promoted to OPS Room. B.J. had many hobbies such as working out, riding his motorcycle, grilling, playing his instruments, and being active in his church. B.J. was known to encourage, uplift, and to guide everyone he came in contact with. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was never ashamed to share it with others. B.J. was also known for his quick witted sense of humor for which he was admired. He was grateful for each day and lived life to the fullest. He always made sure to show grace and compassion and never met a stranger. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 23 years, Teresa Luna and their three furbabies; his sister, Cerez Luna (Marlon); his nephews, Benjamin Luna and Luke Kowal; and nieces Ireanna Luna, Korrine Kowal, and Emilia Alvarado, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Benito H. Luna Sr. and Irene Garza. The family will find comfort knowing he has fulfilled his purpose here on earth and is now in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life for Benito will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas.
