Arthur Galindo, 76, of Carlsbad, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. Arthur was born on October 9, 1944, to Clemente and Adelina Galindo in San Angelo, Texas. He attended San Angelo Central High School and graduated in 1964. After high school, Arthur entered the United States Air Force serving from 1965 to 1970. In 1982, he joined the Goodfellow Air Force Base Fire Department and worked for almost 20 years as a firefighter.
In his retirement, he moved to Carlsbad, where he loved living and working on his ranch. Arthur was also an active member of the Concho Bass Club and enjoyed the company of good friends who shared his lifelong love for fishing. Arthur enjoyed following his local area high school football teams, especially the Central High School Bobcats. You would often see him sitting in the stands on a Friday evening with his cousins Roy and Jimmy, watching his favorite team take on another opponent.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clemente Galindo Sr. and Adelina Chacon Galindo and his two brothers Clemente Galindo and Jesse Galindo.
Arthur is survived by his two daughters Michelle (Randy) Gonzales and Jennifer (Camerino) Galindo; a stepson Mark (Dawn) Denton; and a stepdaughter, Sinah Magana and beloved sister, Nancy (Ramiro) Castanuela. He is also survived by several grandchildren Daniel Gonzales, Mateo Salazar, Olivia Salazar, Ashlee (Charlie) Marrero, Benjamin (Laurie), Brett, Molly, Reagan, Channing and Emerson Denton and Holly (Josh) Moore and Kimberly Magana, as well as several great-grandchildren; nephews Doug (Karen) Aud from Lexington Park, Maryland and Jesse (Missy) Nava and a niece Jessica Estrada.
For those wishing to pay their respects, a viewing will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, between 6 pm and 8 pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home located at 435 W. Beauregard Ave, San Angelo, Texas 76903. A service will also be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm on Friday, March 12, 2021, with burial to follow at Fairmont Cemetery.
