On September 29, 2018 our beloved mother Alicia Olveda Delgado, 70, left this earth and went to her eternal home. Born in Mertzon, Texas on July 11,1948 to Ramon Olveda and Antonia Jimenez. She married the love of her life Leopoldo Dehoyos Delgado Jr on August 7, 1971 at Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Mertzon, where she grew up. She was happily married to Leo for 47 years until her death.
Alicia was an active member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church for many years. She served as a catechist, sang in the choir, she belonged to the Morning Glories prayer group, and she cleaned the church on Sundays. Alicia worked for GTE for over 30 years starting her career just out of High School. She retired and stayed at home for a while until she decided to work again for the Tom Green county library.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Leopoldo Dehoyos Delgado Jr, her sons Leopoldo Olveda Delgado III and wife Linda, Steven Olveda Delgado, and a daughter in law Jessica Gonzales. She is also survived by grandchildren Sarah Alicia Murillo and husband Justin, Harley Alexis Delgado, Alissa Mariah Gonzales, and Steven Bryce Delgado. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her mother Antonia Olveda, sisters Josie Munoz and husband Henry, Andrea Paz, and several nieces,nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ramon Olveda, a sister Angela Ortega, brothers Ramon Olveda Jr.,Steven Olveda, and a niece Monica Munoz.
While our hearts are broken and we miss her terribly, we are comforted by the promise we will see her again one day. A rosary will be held at 7 PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will Be held at 10 AM, Thursday October 4, 2018 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home.
