Steven was born on June 25th, 1980 in San Gil Columbia. At the age of 2, Steven was adopted and raised by Louise and Thomas Gibby in Sandy, UT. After the divorce of his adopted parents, Steven was raised in Salt Lake City by his mother Louise and step-father John Price. He graduated from Olympus High School in 1998. He also served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas Houston East mission from 1999-2001. Steven was married to Ruth Pratt for 10 years between 2003-2013.
Steven spent his working years in both the restaurant industry and financial services industry. Steven worked as a licensed agent for Fidelity Investments and also was an account executive for American Express. He started and ended his career doing the work he was most passionate about; being a chef.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, Steven’s most favorite hobby was cooking. He attended culinary school where he developed that talent into something that he mastered. Steven was someone who made bad days better and good days great. He was kind, sarcastic, loved to laugh, and loved to share his cooking skills with everyone. We will miss his contagious laugh and smile.
Steven is survived by his parents, his brothers Marcus Gibby (Eric Morley) and Bryant Gibby (Katie), his sister Sue Jardine (Brian), 7 nieces and nephews, and his Grandma Jean Manwill. He was preceded in death by his sister Kris Berkouwer.
