Paul Morris Trane passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 2, 2022. He was born May 6, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Samuel Morris Trane and Barbara Lott. He had one sibling, Stan Lewis, Lehi Utah.
He was educated in Lehi Public Schools, Brigham Young University, the University of Utah and Utah State University. He earned credentials in Social Work and School Administration. Paul married Margaret Lindsey, and they were later divorced. He met Richard Teerlink in 1992 and they were married in California in 2008. They were a happy couple until Paul's passing. Paul and Margaret raised five children, Michael Trane, Taos, New Mexico, Ann (Ferguson), St, George, Utah, Barbara (Thornton) Wilmington, North Carolina, Brent Trane, Lehi, Utah, Morris Trane (deceased).
Paul served as a LDS missionary in the Central States Mission. He was in the National Guard for six years. He dedicated his time as a Social Worker and Elementary School Principal in the Granite School District.
He lived a life of service to his country, community and children. Paul loved to travel visiting, Europe, Great Britain, Mexico, New York, and Washington D.C. He enjoyed hiking and camping with Richard especially National Parks in the West. Season tickets to the symphony and dinner at Little America Hotel were dates Richard and Paul enjoyed for years. Paul was predeceased by his parents, his son Morris, a dear Aunt Myriam and Uncle Howard Jasperson.
To celebrate and honor Paul's life a small memorial service will be held at First Unitarian Church 569 South, 13th East Salt Lake City, Utah 84102, July 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM
